NUEQ Showcases Range with Sophomore EP, ‘Zahara,’ on Legendary UK Label

NUEQ

NUEQ, formerly known as Navaro, is back with his second extended play on a legendary label.

After releasing his first project, an EP on Mr. Bill’s Billegal Beats in 2020, NUEQ quickly began catching the attention of notable bass artists throughout the scene. The producer has now performed worldwide in both Israel and the UK with collaborations alongside River Beats’ favorites including Duffrey, Josh Teed, and Phyphr.

His latest EP, Zahara, was created in four different countries as he moved from one place to another–Israel, the UK, Mexico, and finally, the United States. The rising bass producer has now joined the Inspected label to release this project, which consists of four tracks showcasing his wide range of abilities.

Zahara starts with “Viernes,” a dreamy yet upbeat track that mixes ethereal wind-chime tones with driving basslines. It leads into “Neo,” which dips into a fun drum and bass moment while still maintaining some of the vibes of the previous track. Next up is “Ammonites Wall,” my personal favorite and one that feels reminiscent of future bass while still taking advantage of drum and bass stylings. Closing out Zahara is “Astarte,” a track that manages to cohesively pull each of the previous songs together through complex, hypnotizing drum beats with more surreal textures weaving throughout it.

This project feels like a hint at big things to come from NUEQ, and we’re excited to see where his music takes him. For now, give Zahara a listen below to see what makes NUEQ stand out among a dense pool of underground bass talent.
