Concerts make everyone feel like a kid again. That goes double for electronic music, where whimsy, fantasy, and wonder are constantly woven throughout the magic of live events.
On Saturday, July 12th, Headnod Entertainment, crawdad sniper, and some of the biggest players in Baltimore’s bass community, including The Gradient Perspective, Boosted Promo, Para Presents, Charity Sound System, Roamer Productions, Kouch Kollective, Low-end Productions, and arrival., are taking things one step further with a one-day indoor/outdoor festival in downtown Baltimore that has our inner child jumping with joy.
The Baltimore iteration of The Craw Boil – crawdad sniper’s traveling event series – is a two-part event taking place from 12-6 PM and 10 PM – 4 AM at the Checkerspot Brewery in the shadow of M&T Bank Stadium.

While the daytime curation will include activities like giant Jenga, cornhole, live painters, a DUNK TANK, and an untouchable curation of bass music on the street/parking lot outside Checkerspot, the Afterdark festivities will invitie fans inside for a custom visual installation featuring Aether Immersive and Smooth Canoe and a more club-focused lineup that includes the baltimore debuts of Two Guys (crawdad sniper & Chez) and Two Swords (fka Hyroglifics).

Daytime Lineup
First Ever Thought Process x Chris Karns B2B
The biggest sonic draw for the event is undoubtedly Thought Process and Chris Karns going B2B for the first time in history. Brushing shoulders at Pretty Lights’ Yahn Dawn festival two weeks ago, both artists are enjoying plenty of success with Thought Process taking the stage at Tipper, Pretty Lights’, and Of The Trees’ events this summer and Chris Karns blasting off on his own rocketship with his continued journey alongside PL and the founding of Wub Zero with Honeycomb just a few months ago.

We have a solid idea of how this set will go – a sample-heavy, disassembled and reassembled montage of funk, hip-hop, and bass – but can’t say for certain as the B2B will be the first of it’s kind.
Princes of Glitch Hop
As for the supporting plays for the daytime Craw Boil, we’ve got the princes of glitch hop and potential heirs to the future throne of experimental bass, crawdad sniper and Ooga, playing solo sets.
Aside from launching the Craw Boil event series, crawdad sniper has been lighting up audiences far and wide this year with several high-key bookings alongside Mersiv, Ganja White Night, and Griz’s inaugural Valley of the Seven Stars festival.
His recent mix, Walrus Shotgun, signals a new sonic chapter in this crustacean’s discography that we expect to be in full effect come Saturday.
As for Ooga, the prehistoric bass maven has been carving out his own emblazoned path with not one, but two performances at Tipper & Friends at The Gorge this past weekend and the announcement of a two-night run at The Black Box this August.
In the studio, Ooga’s sound has been evolving at a tremendous rate with recent explorations into garage and downtempo resulting in some highly transformational music.
Openers: Philly Finessers & Hometown Favorites
Representing Philly for the third edition of the Craw Boil, we’ve got Des McMahon, an up-and-coming DNB talent who we’ve been keeping our eyes on since Submersion ‘24, and Bandito Jones, a River Beats’ favorite who has been riding a fat wave of momentum following a historic downtempo performance at Tipper & Friends Orion in 2024.
Opening up shop right at noon, we’ve got hometown boys ANTEGN and DNNY PHNTM going B2B, who fans can expect to deliver the pace right away with a healthy onslaught of high BPM bliss.
Daytime Activities
You Got Games?
Aiming for a festival/carnival-style curation, attendees will be able to enjoy activities like giant Jenga, cornhole, and a dunk tank as they peruse live painters and immerselve themselves in the wild stylings of our daytime lineup.
SEAFOOD BOIL
Ofcourse, we can’t have a Craw Boil without some crawfish, and organizers have delivered in full with “Boil Bags” featuring crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn being sold by Baltimore seafood purveyors, The Local Oysters. Grab your bags online here or during the event, but keep in mind that only a limited supply will be available!
Afterdark Lineup
International Allure
Holding it down as the most avant-garde act for the Baltimore Craw Boil is Two Swords, an international artist currently ripping through his first US tour in years. Casting a style that fuses dancefloor-oriented drill, ink-dusted bass, and a twisted take on trap, the UK artist, formerly known as Hyroglifics, represents the more club-focused curation for the Afterdark lineup.
Two Guys’ Hometown Debut
Although crawdad sniper and Chez now reside in DC (under the same roof, as of a few months ago) they still undoubtedly represent Baltimore and the greater DMV area. That being the case, local fans are foaming at the mouth to catch their first Two Guys set following a legendary debut at Infrasound this past May. To get a solid grasp on their very silly, yet extremely sharp (cheddar) flavor, check out their recent EP, Big Brain Goofin.
More Hometown Favorites and Heady B2Bs
Moving down the lineup, we’ve two party starters, Neumonic and Soukii, who will be combining on stage for what we imagine will be a fat supply of speaker-shaking UKG and dancefloor favorites.
Opening up the Afterdark festivities, we’ve got local favorites Ramblur and Dhananjaya going B2B, two sonic distributors who are likely to deliver a colorful setlist with tons of bangers and high-brow selections throughout.

Production: Custom Soundsystem, Immersive Visuals, & TV Wall
Holding down sound for the daytime and after dark festivities are a small, up-and-coming, local (three of our favorite adjectives) crew called Roamer Productions, who will be deploying a sound system that includes more than A DOZEN subwoofers.

Led by the highly decorated audio engineer and lead designer, Nathaniel Rosov, fans can expect the system to be screaming through the day and night of Baltimore’s first official Craw Boil.

As for the visual curation, we’ve got local skull peelers Smooth Canoe and Aether Immersive combining for a one-of-a-kind visual experience led by Amoeba.
