With little to no warning, electronic music masterminds deadmau5 and Kaskade have announced that they are combining forces and creating an EDM supergroup called Kx5.
The two dance music icons are long-time collaborators and have grown and achieved stardom alongside one another while producing a bevy of work. One of which was their chart-topping single, “I Remember” in 2008.
“I mean after COVID, I’m just like, I want do stuff that I want do. I’m like let’s do something fun, and like Joel (deadmau5) said, we get along and make good music together, so let’s do that.”

On Sunday, the two took to Instagram to post a series of color gradients with no caption that led fans to speculate what they were planning. Rumors were confirmed yesterday by Kaskade’s Instagram post announcing the project and again today with a preview of their very first single.

Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to see the first official Kx5 set as the newly-formed duo is heading to EDC Las Vegas to introduce a very lucky audience to their new project.
