10 Can’t Miss Artists at Camp Kouch: 3420, Audio Goblin, Maxfield & More

Camp Kouch Festival

At a destination rumored to be the second coming of Suwannee, with a lineup that boasts some of the most sought-after acts from the underground, the inaugural Camp Kouch Festival is a can’t-miss event.

Camp Kouch Festival

Here are 10 reasons why.

3420

3420

Stretching across intergalactic frequencies sprinkled with subcrushing riffs, the prestige of 3420 speaks for itself. Papadosio, Sunsquabi, and Liminoid are just a few of the acts they’ve supported, with Camp Kouch soon to be another milestone for one of jamtronica’s jiggiest.

air castles

air castles

Hovering above basslines with butterfly wings, the finesse of Virginia Beach’s Air Castles reveals itself in nuanced arrangements, strangely meditative melodic grooves, and otherworldly sound design that likens her to a space maven sent to communicate with us from above.

Audio Goblin

Audio Goblin

In a post-Tipper tomorrow, we find solace in the sonic workings of Audio Goblin, an artist who has undeniably picked up where Dave left off. While you can expect his typical concoction of neuro-powdered potions during his Friday night set, we have a feeling his sunrise set is going to be something we’ve never heard before.

Chez

Chez

Best known for his minimalist approach to some of the most lethal halftime in circulation, DC’s Chez is a party-starter from one end to the next. For the debut of Camp Kouch, Chez will be making a debut of his own, delving into a hybrid UKG set complete with originals and selections alike.

crawdad sniper

crawdad sniper

The neuro-laced, glitch-hop contortionist known as crawdad sniper is the pride and joy of the DMV’s underground bass scene, and will be reppin’ the district most appropriately with his sharpshooting matrices and mastery come Friday night on The Living Room stage.

Liquid L

Liquid L

Dig yourself a couple drops of Liquid L, dispensed on a fatty soundsystem, and you’ll find yourself flying high, through low-end lullabies that vibrate your chestplate, shake your soul, and bring you to the gates of nirvana.

Lone Drum

Lone Drum

With more cuts than a 24/7 hibachi kitchen and a burgeoning beatmaking prowess similar to early Gramatik and Mushroom Jazz, Lone Drum’s solo career has been blasting off in every direction. Catch him coming back to earth, if only for a moment, right after crawdad.

Maxfield

Maxfield

Another torchbearer from glitch hop’s “new school,” Maxfield is known for traversing sonic spectrums as a basscrazed bindlestiff would, making music that’s introspective, evocative, and oftentimes multivalent. Dig his set from TNF Suwannee ‘25 for a potent dose of the auditory illusions he’s capable of assembling.

Midnight Club

Midnight Club

Festivals are more fun with hype side projects, especially ones as deviously eclectic as Midnight Club – the latest multigenre combination between Optik Sound and Haven Woods. Coming equipped with more flavors than a Baskin-Robbins, expect an arrangement intentionally designed for the dancefloor.

Outhear

Outhear

Anyone who has witnessed a Shreztah or Togeki set knows how easily they can excite the masses. Combined? Some call that Outhear. We just call it pouring gas on dynamite. Catch this devilish duo chuckin’ hammers at 3 AM Friday night at The Back Yard.
