When it comes to releases, the extended play (EP) represents a snapshot of what an artist is capable of. It’s where new ideas are experimented upon and old ones are chiseled. While they might be shorter than LPs, that doesn’t mean they lack in quality. In fact, being concise and deliberate with your creative aesthetic is exactly what makes an EP good.
Whether it’s two songs or six, every EP presents a unique narrative worth checking out. Over the past year, we’ve been in a unique position to identify and observe hundreds of EPs from all across the electronic music spectrum. Out of these releases, these are the 15 that we believe stand above the rest.
