There are a few venues that really hold the test of time. venues that every artist aspires to play at during their career. Some of those venues include Red Rocks, Suwanee Amphitheater, and of course The Gorge.
Since 2002 The Gorge hosted Sasquatch Music Festival during Memorial Day weekend. Memorial day weekend is significant to Northwest residents. It means the summer festival season has begun, and the Northwest winters are finally over.
Even before Sasquatch took over this weekend, Memorial Day at The Gorge was a weekend to celebrate. Since 1987, the venue has played host to tons of Rock n’ Roll legends including Chuck Berry, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant.
But as the festival bubble continues to burst, so do tons of long-standing festivals. Sasquatch, unfortunately, met its demise in 2018 and left fans with nothing to replace the Memorial Day Gorge traditions.
To end fans worries and create some new and exciting traditions, Live Nation just announced the creation of a new 3-day series at The Gorge from May 24-26th of this year. We would expect some kind of three day camping festival to take the place of Sasquatch. With the success of Excision’s Bass Canyon, this seems like a no brainer. We expect a new announcement for a new event to happen within the next few weeks.
