Getting ready to make the trip to Beyond Existence this weekend?
Give our “Know Before You Go” guide a quick read to make sure you have a fun and, most importantly, safe time at the festival.
Observe and Evaluate Your Surroundings
No better place to be present than a festival – if not for your own enjoyment, then for the enjoyment, safety, and well-being of yourself and others. While Beyond Existence has dedicated medical staff and harm reduction teams, always look out for your fellow portal-hopping patrons.
Fancy Nuts You Say?
A collision of sensations is set to take place at Beyond this year, and it includes a variety of delicious delectables to ingest that will make ingesting those other delicious delectables go down even smoother. We’re talking brisket from Buddy’s, the smoothest ees from Bombay Station, the fanciest of nuts – paired with shlushd jooces, and plenty more.
Find Something New
Don’t overthink a strict schedule. Festivals like Beyond are chances to find something fresh – whether it’s a new artist, friend, flow art, or interest in a niche of bass music you never explored. Just watch out for those clowns…they’re everywhere, and they’re quite the tricksters.
Work That Shop
One of the spectacles of Beyond Existence this year, which is really bending our eyes, is the workshop curation led by Kat Potts of Electric Hawk. Dragonstaffing, hoop flirtin’, yoga and restorative breathwork (remember to brush your teeth first), duo lyra, and a whole lot more – this is the type of curation that sets Beyond Existence apart.
Get Some Sleep
Yes, there very well may be hijinks and shenanigans to participate in during the wee hours of Beyond Existence. Doesn’t mean you have to, especially if you’ve been getting after it all day long. Lastly, if you’re driving home on the last day, take care of yourself the night before so you’re not snoozing while you’re cruising. That’d be wack.
New Homes Require Patience
As many of you know, Beyond Existence recently found a beautiful new home at The G Ranch in San Marcos, Texas. And it wasn’t easy. As an independent music festival, making the switch to a totally new venue a month before the date is a tough position to be in. So have some patience for a festival that only wants to give you the best experience possible.
