Following the release of his standout single “Rising“, UK producer Duskus is back with the full EP by the same name, Rising. The EP, out today on bitbird, expands on Duskus’s future-pop influences with four dazzling new tracks.
“Rising” kicks off the EP with a demonstrably uplifting start; it’s easy to see why track’s irresistible vocal topline and quirky drop were enough to make San Holo lose it:
The EP continues with “Wild“, a saucy and unforgettable pop-inspired house tune featuring warm guitars and vocals from Nina Kaiser. “Infinity” with Subtact follows, appropriately diversifying the EP with a cleverly composed instrumental. Duskus closes out the EP with “No I’m Not, Yes I Am” with quirky processed vocals interweaving with snyth blips and grooving percussion.
Rising follows the producer’s 2019 EP In Retrospect on Odesza‘s Foreign Family label, and what would have undoubted been a breakout year for the budding producer. Prior to COVID-19 cancellations, Duskus was set to support Slow Magic‘s spring tour and make festival appearances at Hangout Fest and Splash House. Yet, with Rising making waves, Duskus will be even better poised to capture the world’s attention when live shows return.
