Featuring collaborations from Zeds Dead & REAPER as well as Bensley & DNMO, and solo efforts from Friction, STS9 (!), and more, this is undoubtedly one of our most anticipated releases of the year. From Dancefloor thrillers to live Liquid jams, there’s a good fit for everyone.
To Infinity and Beyond
Although mostly known for being a bass music powerhouse, Zeds Dead and the Deadbeats crew have been an essential piece creating buzz around the genre in the US. It is a staple in their events and performances and continues to expand its reach throughout the country.
With their releases such as ‘Lift You Up’ and ‘Lights Go Down’ as well as numerous All-D&B performances, events, and stage takeovers, there’s no question they kept the heartbeat alive and helped propel it to where it is in the US today.
The Deadbeats crew is teaming up with Brownies & Lemonade, a prominent event series reaching a global audience through their unique concert experiences. Starting in Los Angeles in 2012, the grassroots artist showcase has grown into a flourishing endeavor highlighting new and established artists alike.
In 2021, the B&L team cracked the surface on DNBNL, which has now grown into one of the largest Drum & Bass parties in North America. Artists such as Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Netsky & more have graced the stage in locations across the country with many more to come.
It’s a New Dawn, It’s a New Day
To kick off 2024, the two massive forces have joined together to create a compilation highlighting influential and impactful artists circulating festivals and venues alike. Leading with none other than Zeds Dead themselves, a collaboration with REAPER on ‘Back Bus’ exemplifies what’s in store for the tracks to follow.
What follows is an eclectic blend of newcomers and D&B stalwarts. From Friction’s anthemic banger “What I Need” featuring Poppy Baskcomb, to the syncopathic rhythms of IMANU’s remix of his original ‘It’s Our Destiny’ each track stands out in a way that represents the diversity of sound in what is known to be a structured space.
Closing out what is sure to be a memorable collection of productions, jam band favorite STS9 steps in for a breathtaking Drum & Bass rendition of ‘New Dawn, New Day.’ Undoubtedly the most surprising name to see on the playlist, this is a welcome addition and we could not think of a better bookend.
