A surprise Zeds Dead album? So no more fam. Zeds Dead have surprise released their third studio album, Return to the Return (of the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness), the next chapter in their catalogue, following last year’s Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness.
The 14-track project dives deeper into themes of memory, time, and sonic exploration, combining cinematic production and the duo’s signature approach to sampling.
The surprise release arrives just days before the launch of Journey of a Lifetime, the duo’s biggest headlining tour to date, celebrating 15 years of Zeds Dead and 10 years of Deadbeats.
Featuring collaborations with CUT_, Jem Cooke, Kerli, and turntablism legend Skratch Bastid, the album continues to push Zeds Dead’s boundaries while reflecting on the true sound that has made them one of dance music’s industry leaders.
Inspired by the idea that sound never truly disappears, the record imagines forgotten transmissions traveling through time and space before being rediscovered and transformed into something new. The album’s source material spans centuries of recorded history. Samples range from fragments of recent Zeds Dead recordings and vintage hypnosis tapes to compositions by Frédéric Chopin written nearly two hundred years ago, collapsing disparate eras into a single narrative universe.
“The most important thing for us was how we approached making this record. It wasn’t about what might work best at a show or what the single was. It was 100% about letting inspiration take us wherever it wanted to go.” – Zeds Dead
Since emerging from Toronto’s underground in 2009, Zeds Dead have cultivated a fiercely loyal fan community, helped launch the careers of countless artists through Deadbeats, and built one of dance music’s most successful independent ecosystems.

The full tracklist and album are below. Give it a listen and let us know what you think. If you are in Colorado this week (July 2 – 4), it’s officially Zeds Dead season with their annual DeadRocks. If you are not, do not worry; the tour spans North America over the next few months.
