fantasy book series have been at the forefront of pop culture for over two decades now. The success stories of multi-part books are no secret. Even Hollywood has jumped on board, taking larger than life books and making them into larger than life blockbuster pictures. Some of the examples that come to mind are Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Twilight, and dozens more.
With those success stories come the wave of the future. Today we’re happy to feature a young writer who already has six books under her belt since 2019. An amazing accomplishment for any author. Jasmine Johnson is a 21-year-old self-published fantasy author who’s been writing since the young age of 12. Jasmine is a lifelong lover of sci-fi and mythology and lives for a good story. Her latest creation Wrath & Patience is the first book of her new series Event Horizon: Sins and Virtues.
Wrath & Patience is the beginning of a fast-paced fantasy story where the 7 sins and 7 virtues are being awakened and sought after by the heads of Heaven and Hell. The book follows a dual storyline of two characters happening on the same timeline but each with a unique point of view from the sins and virtues of life.
Jasmine Johson and Wrath & Patience provide readers with a new look at Biblical mythology. The theme of the book series stems from Jasmine’s love of ancient mythology. She recently gave some insight into where this new series stems from.
“I’ve always been fascinated with mythology whether its Greek, Norse, Roman, biblical, etc, and I’ve always loved twisting those around or looking at them from a new perspective. That’s where The Event Horizon Series idea came from. It’s a new way of looking at the Seven Sins and the Seven Virtues in a modern setting with some others from biblical mythology – The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Archangels for example.”
Johnson hopes readers will enjoy the stories and characters in the book. She hopes to provide readers an escape from reality, that will lead them coming back for more.
“To me, a good book is one I can curl up and get lost in. That is what I want this book to be for my readers.”
