VCTRE Announces Balderdash, a Genre Defying New EP on Local Void Records
Experimental bass heavyweight VCTRE is officially back with Balderdash, a four track EP arriving July 2 via Local Void Records.
Known for his forward thinking bass music, VCTRE continues to prove why he has become one of the most respected names in the underground scene. The Birmingham producer, born Aaron Pugh, has earned a reputation through releases on labels like Deadbeats, Bassrush Records, and Monstercat, building a sound that is as emotionally charged as it is devastating on a festival sound system.
Heavy Meets Human
At its core, Balderdash is an exploration of contrast. Across four tracks, VCTRE moves between crushing low end, intricate rhythms, atmospheric textures, and moments of genuine vulnerability. The focus track, “Here With Me,” anchors the project with deep dub influences and immersive energy, while the rest of the EP ventures into heavier and more experimental territory.
“This project was an accumulation of many different things, I wanted to create something that embodies many different types of sounds, as well as many types of emotions. I hope you guys enjoy Balderdash. Thank you for listening.” – VCTRE
A New Chapter for Local Void
The release also marks another statement from Local Void Records, a label quickly establishing itself as a home for innovative, artist driven bass music. Through Balderdash, both VCTRE and Local Void continue championing creative freedom over genre conventions, delivering music that resonates equally with headphone listeners and late night festival crowds.
Fans of Of The Trees, CharlestheFirst, and EAZYBAKED will find plenty to sink into when Balderdash lands on all streaming platforms July 2. Pre save links are available now through VCTRE and Local Void’s social channels.
