Ultra Music Festival May Be Postponed Due to Coronavirus

Ultra Music Festival just can’t catch a break. The 3-day Miami-based electronic festival that is supposed to take place on March 20-22 has had two elected city officials call for the postponement over coronavirus concerns. As of today, March 4, California has declared a state of emergency after the death toll rose to 11 people in the United States.

There have been 4 Florida residents confirmed with coronavirus, according to Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

Per the Miami Herald, “the concern stems from the large group of festival-goers” who travel from all over to attend the festival. Mayor Francis Suarez and Commissioner Joe Carollo brought the announcement to the attention of reporters earlier this morning.

The Mayor and Carollo declined to make any other comments and said they would be waiting until 9am on Friday for further details.

BUKU Music + Arts Project, also happening that same weekend, has not made an announcement regarding any postponement concerns yet.
