The Beatport Group Introduces Second Annual Diversity + Parity Fund

The Beatport Group, a global leader in music for DJs, producers, and fans, has announced the opening of applications for grants to its second annual Diversity + Parity Fund. This initiative aims to provide support to organizations that focus on underrepresented groups and promote diversity within the music industry.

The Diversity + Parity Fund demonstrates Beatport’s ongoing commitment to fostering a more diverse and equitable ecosystem by amplifying voices and ideas from various segments of the global community. The fund will offer financial assistance, editorial exposure, and marketing through Beatport’s social media platforms to help organizations increase their impact and reach a broader audience. Organizations that share a similar dedication to amplifying underrepresented voices in the music industry are encouraged to submit an application through the Diversity + Parity Fund.

Sofia Ilyas, Chief Community Officer of The Beatport Group, stated, “We believe in the power of music to unite people from all backgrounds, and it is our responsibility to ensure that the music industry reflects the diversity of the world we live in. Through the Diversity + Parity Fund, we are committed to accelerating change and creating a more inclusive and equitable music industry for everyone. We invite other companies in our community to join us in our mission to increase parity and diversity in music.”

This marks the second year that Beatport has provided funding to organizations focused on increasing diversity within the electronic music community. Last year, the company distributed $100,000 to three inspiring organizations: Lady Of The House, Future Female Sounds, and #FORTHEMUSIC.

For this year, Beatport has increased the fund by 50% to $150,000 and established two types of grants: one for smaller organizations ($3,000 to $15,000 USD) and another for larger organizations ($15,001 to $30,000 USD). This new approach aims to encourage participation from a wider range of organizations, including emerging or grassroots initiatives. Beatport will also seek like-minded partner companies to increase the opportunities and capital invested in these impactful endeavors.

The application process will begin on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 12 pm GMT and close on August 22, 2023, at 12 pm GMT. For more information and submission guidelines, please visit www.beatportal.com/fund.
