As a follow-up to his stunning EP The Long Way Home, Shallou has released 8 new takes on the project from the likes of Sultan + Shepard, KC Lights, Covex and more.

Los Angeles-based producer Shallou’s 2021 EP The Long Way Home was full of transcendent and ethereal jams that blended the lines between indie dance, ambient, and subtle stadium rock tones. Adding a new dimension to the five-track EP, Shallou assembled a stellar lineup of artists to reimagine that iconic sound.

With an energetic cut, Holiday87 flips the popular EP single “Heartaches” into a head-swaying deep house groove. Delivered via the solo project of The Knocks’ Benjamin Ruttner, the Holiday87 remix ups the energy while preserving the track’s emotional eloquence.
Striking that balance was Shallou aim when building the lineup for the EP, as he explains:

“When searching for remixes for this EP, I really wanted to re-contextualize these songs for a club atmosphere but still keep the original charm.-Shallou

The EP also features two shimmering takes on “Corners” from Tom Budin and Scottish producer KC Lights. Jerro [This Never Happened/Anjunabeats] adds an intoxicating melodic cut of “High Tide”, while two additional takes on “Heartaches” from Covex and Anemoni further showcase the versatility of the unforgettable original. BRKLYN and Sultan + Shepard each deliver a tranceworthy take on the tracks “Here” and “Pacifica”, respectively.

Drawing on the tones that make Shallou’s sound so unique, each remix balances reverence with reinvigoration, pushing the danceability of The Long Way Home to new heights. Coupled with the remix EP below is an awesome cinematic cut and continuous DJ mix of the pack, delivered by the man himself.
