In 2020, Shallou put out some of his most moving work yet. The indie-electronic producer pulled out some tough tracks to beat, including favorites such as “Older” and “Make Believe.” Unfortunately, the “new reality of COVID […] stole the joy and excitement” out of the release, making it difficult for Shallou to connect with any new pieces of work. “I often struggled to create and felt further from ‘home,” he explains; that is until his newest single release “High Tide.”
“High Tide” is a part of Shallou’s upcoming EP release and represents the artist feeling like he was “out at sea, trying to paddle back.” He started working on the track in 2019, and wrapped it up alongside Jarrah McCleary aka Panama during quarantine via Zooms and emails.
