Los Angeles singer-songwriter RUNN is live with a poignant new single called “Misery” on Seeking Blue Records.
RUNN, whose list of collaborations runs long with the likes of Illenium, Dabin, William Black, and more, brings us “Misery” as a sweet, shimmering pop snippet from her debut EP release. “Misery“‘s pleasant and peppy instrumentation draws a nice contrast to RUNN’s sulky lyrics. The track’s hopeful tone is bolstered by RUNN’s addicting vocal melodies in the chorus. As RUNN explains,
“[Misery] is a song about the force of empathy – how two broken people can be beautifully supportive of one another. It’s easy to feel alone when you get lost in your head, and having someone who understands and joins you in that space rather than trying to fix it is amazing, and it can be your partner, your friend, your dog etc. I love this song because it’s such a happy sounding bop but with pretty heavy undercurrents.”

The single sets the stage for her debut EP via Seeking Blue Records and follows previous singles “Handle With Care” and “Better“. Outside of the solo releases and a slew of 2020 collaborations that include yetep, Fairlane, and more, RUNN joined Groove Cruise’s Virtual Sail Aways July edition for an exclusive set in support of the Whet Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
