The word “underground” gets tossed around more than a deemz cart at a Tipper Sunrise Set. Typically, by fans who are trying to sound like they know what’s good or promoters attempting to fabricate hype for upcoming shows.
While there are more imitators than innovators in the scene, we have recently come across a new event series that is restoring our faith. Puddles of Motion, a brand-new event series taking place on September 27th, in Charleston, SC, boasts one of the most expertly curated lineups of underground sound currently announced for the Fall of 2026.

Below, we examine a few reasons why this event is so unique.
The Artists
At the top of our list, we have our most notable name, 5am, featuring the brilliant mind of Sam Andrus. Although 5am and his pursuits have become fairly well known inside and outside the corners of niche bass music, his sonic palette still leans toward sounds represented in the “underground,” which makes him one of the more prominent torchbearers bridging the gap.
A fellow Tipper & Friends alumnus, Audio Goblin, will be coheadlining the event. The past year has seen Audio Goblin rocket shipping to the top of lineups across the board with a slew of releases that are defining the future of glitch hop. Go give a listen to his set from Suwannee to get an idea of what you can expect two Saturdays from now.
Yet another TNF alumnus, Maxfield, heads up the direct support slot and is likely one of our most anticipated acts for the show. In examination of his Anemoia EP, we are met with a producer capable of harnessing emotions of every variety, and channeling it through a matrix of cohesive, glistening frequencies. Expect all the crunch for his supporting set at Puddles of Motion.
The most underground artist on the lineup for the first edition of Puddles of Motion, is without a doubt, Liquid L. Making appearances at festivals like Sound Haven, The Astral Project, and Evolutions, and just joining the 3K club on SoundCloud, this Florida-based producer is finally starting to get the attention he deserves. While he has had a light release schedule over the past year, we’re expecting his next big project to be something very special.
Fellow Philadelphia resident and longtime collaborator of 5am, Tygris is slotted for a supporting set that is likely to include a fat supply of turntablism wizardry and eclectic mixing. While the lineup might be leaning towards the glitch hop realm, there is no telling what kind of set Tygris will play as he is known for painting with a wide palette.
The Promoters
While the lineup is proof itself, all the involved promoters have developed a reputation for throwing events that are beloved by lovers of low-end bass music and niche, neuro electronica. Organized by Kouch Kollective, Player1Productions, Rhizome, and Station Underground, the lineup of promoters is almost as stacked as the talent.
Aside from being a new event series, organizers are also attempting to present a new ideology: Creative Resonance – “a production-first philosophy that treats music events as living works of art — spaces that spark innovation, introspection, and inspiration in both artists and audiences”
The Production
As for production, Puddles of Motion will be powered by Everon Productions and taken on a visual expedition through the prisms and paralyzing ethers of Frontier Visuals.
The last piece of the puzzle is, of course, you, the fans, who help keep the underground alive by showing up to events like this. Grab tickets to Puddles of Motion, taking place on September 27th, at the Purple Buffalo in Charleston, SC, here, and keep up with everything the promoters have going on in the links below.
