After their debut in 2019, OLAN has become a quick favorite on the Anjunadeep label, after first releasing on the label in 2020. Now, in 2022, OLAN returns to the deep house imprint started by Above & Beyond with “Ultraviolet,” the third single from their debut album Contra, due June 10.
“Ultraviolet” is a collaboration with Canadian producer is a drum & bass-fused, fast-paced track mixed with liquid funk. Finding inspiration in the video game Outer Wilds, OLAN explains that “in the game, you find an ancient writing from a character named Solanum that begins to think the creator of the universe (the Eye) has no specific attachment to its creation, and that the signal calling out to them having no meaning wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing…Applying this to my own sense of spirituality suddenly made things a lot easier to manage emotionally.”
This new release is the third single from OLAN’s debut album, out June 10 on Anjunadeep. Listen to the other two previously released singles below, “Wake And Return” and “Promise to Keep.”
