Mielo has unveiled an astounding brand new single “Scar” featuring Cailee Rae, the second from his forthcoming EP.
Our glimpse into Chicago-based producer Mielo‘s vivid vision for his debut EP Anywhere But Here is getting clearer. His newest single “Scar,” featuring infectious vocals from pop artist Cailee Rae, highlights pain and vulnerability with otherworldly soundscapes and entrancing melodies. The release marks the second Cailee Rae effort to get the Mielo spin after his official remix of her single “It’s On You.”
“Scar” paints a picture of an artists’ journey to pave their own lane in the at-times cutthroat and unforgiving music industry. Balancing pressure from all angles to push their art in different directions takes its toll, as Mielo explains:
“Cailee & I wrote ‘Scar’ when both of us were going through transitional points in our young careers. We reflected on the traumas of making ourselves vulnerable at such a young age through music & the lasting scars that the previous years have left. This song is us reclaiming control of our lives & careers through the new paths we are paving this year.”-Mielo
The track serves as a follow-up to Mielo’s impressive single “ILY” featuring Sarah De Warren released last month. Despite the decidedly gloomier message on the new single, Mielo’s production seamlessly pushes the listener straight into his dreamlike world. “Scar” safely stands out as another strong euphoric addition to the upcoming Anywhere But Here EP.
