NOLA Production Duo Merger Release a New Single & Announce their EP

Merger

Merger is kicking off the new year with a slew of new singles and a forthcoming EP.

Merger is back at it for 2023. The New Orleans-based production duo has already had a steady stream of new releases this year, and their latest just dropped today.

The duo started off 2023 by collaborating with Weston & Teston on a progressive house track titled “There For You.” This soulful vocal and lushly progressive track perfectly encapsulates the more melodious side of the Merger project. They then quickly switched gears and released the high-energy, acid house-infused techno track “Acid Test” from their forthcoming EP on UFO Recordz. The track gives listeners an undeniable “warehouse rave” vibe.

Most recently, the boys’ remix of “Better Now” by Telykast gives this euphoric house ballad a necessary jolt of dancefloor energy and punchy synths. When we chatted over email, the boys said they wanted to take the original track and give it a darker twist, plus some extra energy for a club and festival setting.

“We’ve been wanting to put out some of our darker & heavier records for a while, and we think this EP is the perfect way for us to really showcase our production skills and versatility,” the boys said over email. “In addition to the release of our EP, we also have some more big collaborations coming later (including one on our dream label bucket list).”

About Merger

Merger is comprised of Paul Tabary and David Moolekamp. Despite both working in corporate finance/accounting, they bonded over their shared love for music and began creating unique tracks that seamlessly blend the underground and mainstream worlds of house music. Despite still being in their early stages, the duo has garnered support from some of the biggest names in dance music, including The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Don Diablo, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Tritonal, Sam Feldt, and more.

Their music has also received extensive airplay on Sirius XM’s BPM radio, Diplo’s Revolution, and Pitbull’s Globalization radio. Additionally, Spotify featured them on prominent playlists like “Dance Rising,” “Mint,” “Power Hour,” “Bangers,” and “New Music Friday Dance.” The group also recently charted on iTunes and Beatport’s Top 100. With such impressive achievements within just a few years, Merger’s future prospects look promising.
