Breakout Swedish DJ/producer Kasbo puts his magic melodic touch on “Sky Is Crying” — the fan-favorite single from GRAMMY®-nominated, chart-topping artist ZHU featuring Malaysian singer/songwriter Yuna.
Kasbo’s “Sky Is Crying” remix is made for closing your eyes and raising your arms in the open air. While the original leans into dark melancholy, this soaring rendition feels cathartic. There’s warmth in the gentle but firm groove, and light in the dancing synth. Despite Yuna’s lyrics about heartbreak and sorrow, his expansive, heaven-scraping chords impart hope for a better future.
Give Kasbo’s remix a listen below:
For Kasbo, this remix is the latest example of his ability to craft emotive electronic music that makes you want to dance as much as cry. He’s a staple on Odesza’s Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records — where he’s released two albums, 2018’s Places We Don’t Know and 2020’s The Making of a Paracosm — with previous appearances on Monstercat and bitbird. In addition to ZHU, Kasbo has remixed a wide range of artists like Ed Sheeran, Jai Wolf, Local Natives, and Big Gigantic.
Kasbo just wrapped up a Sunday closing set at Okeechobee Music + Arts Festival earlier this month. Check out our Okeechobee festival recap at the link here.
