GRiZ Wows The Tabernacle in Atlanta with the Ultimate Light Show [WATCH]

GRiZ has had quite a 2019 – with countless sold-out stops on his tour including a fantastic run at Red Rocks Amphitheater and Camp Kulabunga. Through all the festival stops, tour sets, and fan experiences – he still manages to give each city  special something for each show.

GRiZ‘s throwback (2010-2017) set at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on Thursday, October 10 was certainly a night to remember. We noticed that there were three semi-trucks full of production for the Ride the Waves tour outside the back of the Tabernacle; but honestly, we had no idea what was in store.

The Funk Hunters set the mood with a funky set full of Defunk, Anderson .Paak remixes and some tracks I didn’t even know could be mixed into electronic, including a wild remix from Urbandawn of a throwback Beatles song “Come Together”. They showed the crowd their true mixing ability and kept the party live af – while showing off their freestyle technique on a 2×4 CDJ setup.

Then, GRiZ opened up the show with his most popular classic track “Gettin’ Live” – he rolled it out nice and funky and took fans on a walk down memory lane. His throwback set brought so many of us back several years through all the saxxy memories.

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be more lights or lasers, more and more kept popping up. About 1/3 of the way through GRiZ’s headlining set, the stage lit up. And then he played one of our favorite throwbacks –  “Superstition” mixed with his original track “My People”.

There are still a few more chances to see GRiZ on his Ride the Waves tour. Trust us, you won’t want to miss this production – it’s the wildest light show you’ve seen in a while.
