Making their return to River Beats today is the one and only Flamingosis. And making their debut on River Beats is Denver-based duo Diastrata. The pair return today with “Artificial Love,” the second single from their upcoming album Sunlight Daydream, out on our old school River Beats collaborator Philos Records. This single follows the release of their title track “Sunlight Daydream.”
The single combines Flamingosis’ signature blend of nostalgic sample-based production with Diastrata’s fluid live instrumentation. “Artificial Love” creates a dreamy, retro-futuristic groove that evokes long, nostalgic drives. On another cool note: The single is accompanied by a surreal animated music video from 3D artist David Mellor (@Mellomograph) – Watch HERE
Flamingosis, New Jersey-raised, Brooklyn-based producer Aaron Velasquez, has built a reputation for fusing funk, soul, and electronic music into uplifting, cinematic soundscapes. And newcomers Diastrata (Drew Birch and Ian Gilley) are known for weaving funk, soul, and hip-hop into a fluid live sound that brings analog warmth to Flamingosis’ sample-based production.
Released through our friends Philos Records, a community-driven label known for championing boundary-pushing electronic and hip-hop artists, Sunlight Daydream promises to be a vibrant, genre-bending project. Fans can celebrate the release with a special Denver pop-up and a Mishawaka Amphitheatre show on September 19 with SunSquabi.
