Earlier this year, Portland-based producer Emancipator delivered a dazzling and dynamic brand new album Mountain of Memory, adding 14 new tracks to his expansive repertoire of introspective electronic tunes. Now, Emancipator is back with the announcement of a full remix album and a first taste with CloZee’s flip of “Labyrinth“.
Due in its entirety on October 9th on his self-run Loci Records, the Mountain of Memory remix pack will include fresh takes from il:lo, Maddy O’Neal, jackLNDN, and more. The debut release from the pack comes from one of our faves: French bass artist CloZee.
Riding high off the recent release of her newest album Neon Jungle, CloZee delivers another stellar tune with “Labyrinth“. Spicing things up with wallowing synths and heavier percussion, CloZee adds a new dimension to the atmospheric original. The track is a complementary clash of the two artists’ world-influenced sounds, signaling Emancipator’s tasteful pairings for the rest of the LP.
