If you hung out with us during quarantine, then you were bound to see one of our collaborations with Atlanta electro-soul prodigy Daily Bread. His “Bread & Breakfast” live events brought happiness and joy to thousands of fans when we needed it the most. If you missed it, re-live some of its magic here.
And while those live streams brought tons of good vibes, they also brought something bigger, new music. That’s right, Daily Bread is back with his latest project, Purple Clouds, via Philos Records. You may have heard several of the singles, as they were premiered during Bread & Breakfast live streams.
This five-track Ep serves as an homage with July 2016’s Cloud Conductor release. That project is easily one of Daily Bread’s most esteemed, requested, and beloved releases to date. Similar to Cloud Conductor, the Purple Clouds EP presents a series of songs produced thematically around weather, using imagery of storms, clouds, and other familiar weather patterns as metaphors for life.
Some other interesting facts about this release, the cover art for Purple Clouds is constructed from a Polaroid SX-70 camera. Daily Bread’s partner in crime, Artifakts processed and assembled the image into the artwork for Purple Clouds, with a nod back to the original Cloud Conductor artwork.
Because we love you, and our Daily bread, we’re happy to invite you to hear Purple Clouds exclusively on River Beats one-day early. Purple clouds will be out on all major streaming platforms, Friday, July 24.
