Calvin Harris Drops 'Love Regenerator,' A Breakbeat/Acid/Techno EP, & We STAN

I will be the first one to tell you that when I learned Calvin Harris was dropping new music, I was ecstatic. Calvin Harris was one of the first names to get me into electronic music, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Even with his latest EP, titled Love Regenerator 1, a completely unexpected surprise filled with breakbeat, acid house, and techno. Something that is completely different from anything he has ever released before, ever.

But naturally, as most electronic music listeners can attest to, your sub-genre tastes tend to evolve. This is also represented in some of our favorite artists that we listen to, and can also be said of Harris and his latest venture into the unknown. And we f*cking love it.

In a press release, Harris was quoted saying:

“I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces. Just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me. The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up. In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule. Every synth and sound used is from that time period.”
