Breaking News: Five reportedly dead after shooting at BPM Festival (Live Updates)

–Five fans have reportedly been killed after shootings have broken out at BPM Festival in Mexico.

–Local news reports suggest that the shooting is connected to ongoing drug cartel wars in the area while others have linked it to a ‘possible terror attack’.

–Reports from UK Daily Mail that shooting occurred through an open window 3:39am Central Time.

–Reports are coming in that security at The Blue Parrot attempted to protect club goers from gun fire at 3:36 a.m. Central Time.

–The tragedy at the dance music and EDM event took place in the early hours of the morning. News broke with Jackmaster Tweeting from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, after shots were fired at Blue Parrot during Elrow’s closing party.

“Someone has come into the club in Playa Del Carmen and opened fire,” he Tweeted. “4-5 dead and many wounded. Stay in ur f*ckin hotel if you’re here at BPM.”

UPDATE: 3:00 a.m. EST: News is still coming in every second. Twitter is now a buzz that other locations at BPM may be affected.

UPDATE: 3:58 a.m. EST — The BPM Festival organizers wrote on their Twitter account that all parties have been shut down following the alleged shooting incident.

UPDATE: 4:15 a.m. EST #BREAKING; At least 8 dead, multiple wounded in #attack at club in #PlayaDelCarmen, #Mexico.Someone has come into the club in Playa Del Carmen and opened fire. 4-5 dead and many wounded.

UPDATE: 9:00 a.m. EST “It is with great sadness to share that police have confirmed reports of a lone shooter outside the Blue Parrot nightclub in Playa Del Carmen earlier today, which resulted in four fatalities and twelve injured,” a statement early Monday by the BPM festival said
