Two of the hottest (and youngest) artists in music right now are battling it out for the #1 song in America. What’s even more notable: Billie Eilish landed her first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. “Bad Guy” dethroned Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus‘ “Old Town Road” after 19 consistent weeks of being the #1 song in America. NINETEEN weeks. This long period of time broke records for the longest song to stay #1.
Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” slowly creeped up, remaining at spot #2 for 9 nonconsecutive weeks. The song received a boost after a vertical video was released from Eilish, re-pushing the song to fans.
Lil Nas took to Twitter to acknowledge the change, poking fun at Eilish. He also congratulated her on the accomplishment, as did Billy Ray Cyrus.
