Flashback to Red Rocks 2016: Gramatik is rocking a nearly sold-out show when something unexpected happens. He stops the music, says a few of his friends are in town for the weekend, and he would like to bring them up.
Out of the corner pocket of the stage comes GRiZ, Russ Liquid, and Big Gigantic. All of them go on to play for about 30 minutes and the crowd is in total shock in the best way possible. That’s right, I witnessed something both unexpected and rare that summer night in Morrison, Colorado: the famed Big GRiZmatik: a combination of Gramatik, GRiZ and Big G.
If you’re like me, that night is something that will go down as a truly special event that only aligned due to the perfect circumstances. But maybe we are in for some Big GRiZmatik sightings this summer? Big G started the rumor mill up by sub-tweeting a fan who has repeatedly asked for a Big GRiZmatik show. A little over an hour later, Gramatik joined the party and now we are all left wondering if something big is about to go down.
