Barclay Crenshaw is out to make the new year, his year. Just over a week ago, the LA-based producer played his first show of 2024 at The Factory in Deep Ellum (Dallas, TX) as a guest on Liquid Stranger’s huge “Expansion” tour. This week, he’s preparing for one of the most exciting weekends of his career with the release of the second album under the Barclay Crenshaw alias and a release party to accompany it the very same night.
Set for the legendary New York venue, Webster Hall, the album release party on Friday, March 8th will also kick off Barclay Crenshaw’s latest tour named the same as his forthcoming album, Open Channel.
The closer we get to Friday, the more the depth of this tour begins to sink in.
An album made in just 80 days? The first major headlining tour as Barclay Crenshaw? A full visual experience and projection mapping? As a long-time artist and DJ who is no stranger to next-level tour production, Crenshaw seems to be raising the bar with this one.
The massive 13-stop tour brings the heat to some notable venues including New York City’s Webster Hall and Chicago’s Concord Music Hall the following night. Always striving to shed light on obscure music, Crenshaw has ensured that the “Open Channel” tour will boast a support lineup that reflects the underground.
You can expect to see some of the best talent the underground has to offer along with some well-established names as the icing on the cake. Support for the “Open Channel” tour includes EPROM, FLY, tiedye ky, LYNY, SICARIA, SHINY THINGS, Super Future, and Great Dane. As if this wasn’t already enough to make any bass junkie crave a ticket, Barclay Crenshaw has also made sure to melt minds with a new visual experience to pair with the tour.
In addition to album and tour artwork provided by Daniel Martin Diaz, he’s also teamed up with well-known digital artist LightBender for projection mapping and visuals.
The “Open Channel” tour is set to commence this Friday, March 8th, with the album release party at Webster Hall featuring support from tiedye ky, Super Future, and Yenny. You can find tickets here.
