Well, it’s here. Skrillex’s official remix for Travis Scott & Drake’s “Sicko Mode” is finally here.
And to be honest, I’m not sure how we feel about this. Skrillex channeled his inner Bassnectar for this one. Adding sound effects, different keys, whistles, and just slightly changing the composition of the track. Something Bassnectar is notorious for when he “remixes” any song. Take BUKU’s Front to Back as a prime example.
The entire release seems rushed, and we think we know why. JOYRYDE, who is a current OWSLA artist, was forced to push back the release of his “Brave” LP yesterday, and to save face, and maybe change the talking point, Skrillex pushed up the release of his “Sicko Mode” remix.
Listen to the remix, and let us know what you think. It takes about 2 full minutes for Skrillex production to really be heard.
