From TBA to Pangbourne House Mafia, Skrillex, Fred Again…, and Four Tet made dance music history this past Sunday, April 23, as they closed down the Coachella main stage after Frank Ocean pulled out from the festival.
The set was streamed live on the festival’s Youtube. For those that were unable to tune in, you’re in luck – listen to the trio’s set below. Please note that the stream was having audio issues for about 20 minutes of the set, which is why there is a small echo.
It has been a remarkable 2023 for the trio/besties. The three played a sold-out, five-hour show at Madison Square Garden and a pop-up in Times Square in February, collaborated on “Baby Again..” in March, and now – have closed out Coachella together in April.
Their varying music backgrounds and sounds combine for something unique in the music industry; Four Tet tapping those older OG dance fans (and the younger with his love for “Country Riddim”), Skrillex growing his career with the millenials, and Fred again.. pulling the Gen Z’s. Together, they’re breaking down the stereotypes and norms in dance music.
