Shaky Knees Festival is back for its fifth year as Atlanta’s premier indie/rock and roll event, delivering yet another standout lineup to look forward to this May 12-14, 2017. If you missed LCD Soundsystem’s epic return to the higher profile festival circuit last year, rest easy because the band will be back in action this spring at Shaky Knees. This is a huge win for the Tim Sweetwood as his brainchild continues to grow, hosting a legendary band that graced only the top very top festivals in the U.S. in 2016, including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits.
LCD Soundsystem is not the only big name to get excited over. Phoenix has not played a show in the U.S. since 2014 and is another band that traditionally doesn’t wander far from the major festival roster. The XX and Nick Murphy (formerly Chet Faker) definitely come through as the wild card electronica headliners for a formerly rock and roll heavy event. There is still plenty to be had for the old school Shaky Knees fans out there. While it will be nearly impossible to ever to The Strokes headlining in 2015, Pixies, Cage The Elephant, and The Shins leave little to be desired for this year’s event.
