Portola Music Festival is set to return to San Francisco’s Pier 80 on September 20–21, 2025, marking its fourth iteration since launching in 2022. Organized by Goldenvoice (also behind Coachella), the two-day, 21+ event continues its focus on electronic and adjacent genres, with a lineup that blends legacy acts, contemporary producers, and experimental artists
This year’s headliners include LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, and Christina Aguilera. Moby is slated to perform his seminal album Play in full, while Underworld, Peggy Gou, and Dom Dolla round out the top billing. Other notable acts include Blood Orange, Rico Nasty, Caribou, The Rapture, Arca, and Magdalena Bay. The festival will also host the San Francisco debut of Despacio, the high-fidelity sound system and immersive dancefloor experience created by James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) and the Dewaele brothers of Soulwax.

Tickets are priced at $289.95 for single-day general admission and $420 for two-day GA passes. VIP options range from $424.95 for single-day access to $699.95 for two-day passes, with a VIP XL tier available at $1,599.95. A 25% down payment plan is available for a limited time.
Portola’s venue, the industrial Pier 80, offers both indoor and outdoor stages, with performances running from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. each day. While the festival has drawn praise for its curation and production, it has also faced criticism over logistical issues and noise complaints. In 2024, over 220 complaints were filed by nearby residents, prompting organizers to reorient stages and implement noise monitoring systems.
The 2025 lineup reflects Portola’s continued commitment to showcasing a diverse array of electronic music, from established pioneers to emerging talents. As the festival evolves, attendees can expect a blend of high-profile performances and immersive experiences, set against the unique backdrop of San Francisco’s waterfront.
