PhaseOne Unleashes “Pulse” with Alt-Metal Band Banks Arcade from Album Terranova [Listen]

After making waves with his last track “SOS” alongside Make Them Suffer, Australian producer PhaseOne is back with another heavy-hitting release. His new song “Pulse,” made with alt-metal band Banks Arcade, is the latest sneak peek into his upcoming album Terranova.

The name Terranova means “new earth” in Latin, and the whole album centers around themes like starting over, growth, and renewal, while also calling out how much damage we’ve done to the planet.

“Lyrically, the theme of renewal is woven throughout the album. A standout example is the opening track, where the monologue, narrated by my wife, features Mother Nature reflecting on humanity’s destruction of the Earth, but affirming that even after we’re gone, she will always find a way to regenerate.” – PhaseOne

Each single tells part of that story: “SOS” kicks things off with a tree of life, symbolizing the beginning. In “Pulse,” that tree burns, showing the destruction we’re causing. “Divide” takes it further with a lifeless, barren tree, reflecting neglect. The full album art flips the script, showing a thriving, post-human world with a gold glow that represents nature bouncing back.

Pulse With Banks Arcade

“Pulse” mixes industrial metal, breaks, and electronic production, all tied together with aggressive guitar riffs, distorted synths, and nonstop drums. PhaseOne says “Pulse” Let him explore a new sound.

“It’s a metalcore-inspired breaks track, something I hadn’t done before, but I had a blast making it. Josh from Banks Arcade crushed the vocals. It brought the whole track together. There’s this driving rhythm throughout the song that makes it super fun to play live. Every time I’ve dropped it at a show, the crowd goes off.”

The track layers harsh vocals over a raw mechanical sound that blends the power of live rock instruments with dance music. Banks Arcade’s gritty style adds even more edge, giving the song a dark, energetic feel. It feels both heavy and catchy at the same time. Perfect for fans of both metal and bass music.

Coming out of Sydney, Phaseone’s built a reputation for doing things his way. Whether he’s producing, playing guitar, or writing songs. That unique sound has led to millions of streams, multiple chart-toppers, and support from artists like Skrillex, Illenium, Excision, and Slander. He is and will continue to carve out a lane for himself as one of the pioneers of bass & metal fusion
