2018 might be coming to an end, but if your new year resolution is to listen to more music, get a head start with us.
It’s been an amazing year of sharing some of our favorite tracks every week! This is our last weekly roundup of 2018 as we take a break for the holidays to prepare our year-end lists, but we’ll see you on the other side!
Check out our favorite new tracks from the past week, and stream the entire playlist below.
REZZ x Blanke – Mixed Signals
Most new music from everyone’s favorite cult queen REZZ is preceded by weeks of fanefare and anticipation, but “Mixed Signals” dropped quietly this weekend. However, REZZ and Blanke’s amazing collaboration deserves all of the attention and is another amazing track in REZZ’s ever-growing catalog.
Egzod – Departure (ft. evOke)
This melodic bass banger courtesy of Egzod is an eclectic assortment of elements, forming a passionate, powerful, and melodic cohesion. It’s a song you want to replay as soon as it’s over, and one that will be on my rotation into 2019.
“This is one of my favorite tracks I’ve ever made. I met evOke on Facebook and he wrote the lyrics in no time; the song was made pretty quickly during last summer.” – [Egzod]
Skrillex & JOYRYDE – Agen Wida (Luca Lush Remix)
“Agen Wida” might be one of the most remixed songs of the past few months, but if there’s one person that can out-remix the masses, it’s Luca Lush. Lush starts the remix with a slow drum beat that goes from 0 to 100 quickly, as he opts for car influenced reverberations, complemented by a tempo change built around the jungle house drums of the original.
Catch Luca Lush on his Another Life Tour which kicks off in my town of Portland on January 24.
MASTERIA – Darkness EP
The newest release from Tchami’s CONFESSION Label comes courtesy of MASTERIA, a new bass house producer out of Detroit who is already making waves. While his Darkness EP is only two tracks, it effortlessly delivers punching basslines and splintering beat drops. It’s the kind of dark, menacing house music we’ve come to love from CONFESSION.
Mr. Wright – Flütz EP
Flütz is the second EP from Mr. Wright, a producer that recently caught our attention. The three-track EP is as diverse as it is impressive, as the tracks transcend from soft and smooth to darker house music to a trendy dancefloor groove.Gø Pnik.
Gø Pnik – Day To Die
Making their way on our weekly roundup for the first time is the New Orle and duo Gø Pnik. These guys have been on our radar for most of 2018. They’re back today with a heavy and dark inspired bass single, “Day To Die.”
P-TAB x maxtaylor- The Life
Our boy P-Tab is back on the blog today with his latest single “The Life.” This is a different vibe from what we’ve seen from P-Tab in the past. “The Life” features New Orleans rapper maxtaylor. Stream it below!
Valy Mo – Dimension
Following on from a slew of singles this year, Valy Mo’s sound makes its debut with Dimension on Tiesto’s esteemed AFTR:HRS club label. “Dimension” spans the realms of underground house and bass music.
These are just a few of the songs in the newest update to Freshly Picked Beats. Be sure to check out the Spotify playlist in its entirety below.
