One of our favorite festivals is finally back for the first time since 2019, and we can’t wait to be there.
DoLab has gone all out in 2022 with an incredible lineup of musicians, artists, speakers, workshops, yoga instructors, food vendors, and more. Whether you want to spend your weekend dancing, learning, stretching, or a little bit of everything, this is your guide to Lightning in a Bottle.
The Music
As always, Lightning in a Bottle delivers an eclectic lineup expertly curated by stage. Live acts such as Glass Animals, Little Simz, and Purity Ring will grace the Lightning Stage. Thunder Stage features the best in bass music with artists like Clozee, Ekali, and Mr. Carmack. The always-entertaining Woogie Stage will be home to all the house music you could possibly desire, including Black Coffee, Maya Jane Coles, and Eli & Fur.
Once the sun has set and the main stages start winding down, the party moves to The Stacks, The Junkyard, and Grand Artique. Each stage is stacked with a lineup of underground talent that will keep you dancing until the sun comes back up. Check out the full lineup of artists below.
Learning & Culture
Lightning in a Bottle is so much more than a music festival. A big part of the festival is its Learning & Culture lineup, full of speakers, workshops, and discussions. Whether you want to hear from renowned speakers such Billy Carson or Queen Afua, talk about protecting the earth with soil practices and fire-adapted communities, or learn about all sorts of food, LiB has you covered.
Yoga & Movement
Dancing at the music stages isn’t the only way to get your body moving at Lightning in a Bottle. With multiple tents for yoga and movement, you’ll be able to stretch out, recharge, or learn something new any time of the day. From acroyoga to traditional flow classes, hoop workshops to dance classes, there’s something for everyone. Check out the full yoga & movement lineup here.
Art & Interactivity
But wait, there’s more! Once you’ve had your fill of learning and stretching, it’s time for some unadulterated fun. Lightning in a Bottle has a full-on disco roller skating rink, a wild and wacky beauty salon, and a karaoke park. There’s also a dedicated fire flow zone, a beach house celebrating Latinx, Caribbean, African and Indigenous cultures, and interactive art exhibits peppered throughout the festival grounds. Check out the full art & interactivity lineup here.
Lightning in a Bottle takes place May 25-30 at Buena Vista Lake in Kern County, California. Tickets are still available here, but they’re going fast and you’re not gonna want to miss this one.
