After a week of cryptic social media posts, the Jonas Brothers officially announced yesterday that they are, in fact, back! The track, titled “Sucker,” is the first new music from the trio since 2013. After a fallout between the brother band, the three split ways to pursue individual projects.
Upon listening to “Sucker,” it’s safe to say that these three have grown up! With a more matured sound, they still stay true to what made them so popular from the beginning. Personally, I am excited to see what more they have up their sleeves in terms of releases.
The three skyrocketed in popularity after being Disney Channel sweethearts. They had their own show, starred in the Camp Rock movies, and undeniably had multiple infectious tunes with catchy lyrics. Their self-titled second studio album featured ALL the bops: “S.O.S.,” “Hold On,” “Hello Beautiful,” and so much more.
The brothers split in 2013 after cancelling their worldwide tour due to “creative differences.” Since then, the three have continued their own individual creative pursuits. Nick Jonas released his third solo album in 2016, which featured some radio hits. Joe Jonas starred in his own collaborative artist project DNCE, with the debut hit “Cake By the Ocean.” Kevin Jonas strayed from the music scene and focused on his family and reality TV instead.
