How to Find New Tunes to Listen to: A Guide for Music Lovers

Music can be something deeply special. The right song in the right place and time can quite literally change your whole life, unlock deep, old memories, or reframe something you thought you knew and understood inside out. Music is about discovery—finding new songs, whole niche genres, and bands or artists you may never even have heard of. The question you should ask is how exactly do you go about finding these new tunes? It is a good question, and one that will hopefully have been answered for you in this text, so read on.

Spotify

The most mainstream and ridiculously easy way to discover new music is on Spotify, which tracks what you have listened to in the past and liked before making playlists tailored to your likes and dislikes, which are called “daily mixes”. Many of the songs here you will already have listened to, but there will be some tracks that are similar that you have not heard yet, which makes it perhaps not the ideal option for when you just want new music and nothing old. If that is not up your alley, simply diving into the depths of the internet will quickly yield some results, like on SoundCloud, for which you may want to Convert SoundCloud URL to MP3, which will let you download the music you find and listen to whenever you like with no fear of losing internet or it being deleted off the platform. Otherwise, Spotify is the most comfortable and accessible way of finding something new, although you do have to have Premium to enjoy it fully without constraints.

Ol’ Reliable: The Radio

Sometimes the old ways just work best, and this is no less true when you want some new music without putting effort into researching, selecting, and downloading. Enter, the radio, the ol’ reliable that you can just turn on and listen to for hours on end without lifting a finger. Whether you are in the car, at work, or cleaning, the radio is always an option and does not even use the internet. There are many stations to choose from, of course, so if you do not already have a couple that you like to listen to, do one or two Google searches and see what stations are currently in and what kind of music or genre they mostly play, whether it is top trending tracks, or pop songs, or rock, or maybe something more niche like hits from the 80s. Whatever strikes your fancy, you are sure to find it sooner or later. The radio still exists for a reason, so use that to your advantage and scour its breadth to find your new favorite tunes.

It can be surprisingly complex to find new beats to enjoy, but if you take some time to explore what Spotify found for you, or see what a few Google searches come up with, or just switch on the radio, you are sure to discover some awesome new tunes that seem almost made for you.
