G-Space & Vide Release New Single “Shattered” Under HypnoVizion [Interview]

GSpace X Vide

Breaking the Boundaries of Bass: G-Space and Vide SHATTER Expectations with New Collaboration and G-Space’s Dark Matter EP Under Rezz’s HypnoVizion label. In the chaotic, boundary-pushing world of bass music, the collaboration between G-Space and Vide stands out as a defining moment.

Released on Rezz’s HypnoVizion label, “Shattered” showcases an experimental sound that defies genre and challenges musical norms. While the track marks a strong collaboration, G-Space also dropped his solo project, the Dark Matter EP, cementing his place in the darker side of electronic music. Created during a late-night studio session, “Shattered” transformed when Vide ran the track through a granulator, turning a simple beat into something entirely unique. “I stayed up that night sculpting the wild textures we’d created into a drop. By the time Vide woke up, it had taken on a life of its own,” recalls G-Space.

Give “Shattered” a listen below

“We’ve been playing this track live for years, and people kept asking us when it was going to drop. It landed on HypnoVizion at just the right time, and we’re stoked to see where it goes from here.” – G-Space

“This is my first time releasing on a label, and I couldn’t ask for a better one than HypnoVizion. They’re building something really special, and I’m grateful to be a part of it,” – Vide

The Dawn of Dark Matter: G-Space’s Latest Solo Exploration

While “Shattered” highlights the synergy between the two artists, G-Space’s Dark Matter EP takes his solo artistry to new depths. Released on September 19, 2024, Dark Matter is a five-track exploration into the shadowy, subversive side of bass music.

“People know me for my melodic, instrumental-driven tracks, but Dark Matter is me embracing the filthy, raw side of my sound.”

– G-Space

The EP, packed with collaborations from bass renegades like Cavemen, HMPMLK, Patches., and finneh, offers a gritty sound that dives deeper into the experimental elements he’s known for. Of course, “Shattered” makes an appearance on the EP, tying the collaborative energy with Vide into G-Space’s larger vision.

Dark Matter is bold, impulsive, and unmistakably daring—qualities that have become synonymous with HypnoVizion releases.

“This release is heavily inspired by artists like Shades, Rezz, and Tsuruda—anything deep, dark, and dangerous. I’ve been DJing this sound during my low-light, no-phone sets, and it’s been insane. My friends and I had so much fun making these tracks.”

A Creative Journey Years in the Making

What makes both “Shattered” and Dark Matter so compelling is the journey behind them. G-Space and Vide didn’t just meet by accident — they collided in the green room of D.C.’s iconic 9:30 Club years ago, bonding over a love for SoundCloud-era bass music. But it was an unexpected twist at Camp Bisco 2019 that sealed their creative partnership. When a tornado grounded EAZYBAKED’s flights, G-Space and Vide were asked to step in for an impromptu back-to-back set. The result? A musical chemistry that ignited long DJ sets and Twitch marathons throughout the pandemic era.

We were doing these crazy late-night DJ sessions for hours during lockdown. At one point, we realized we had never actually made a track together, so we changed that,” Vide shares with a grin. Fast forward to 2022, and the two locked themselves in a studio in Baltimore for three days, churning out ideas that would eventually become “Shattered.” “It was like the fourth beat we made that session, but it stuck,” says G-Space. “We broke it down, put it through a granulator, and let the chaos unfold. It was one of those magical moments.”

A New Era of Bass Music

G-Space’s ability to graze multiple genres — world, funk, jazz, trap, glitch, and bass — has set him apart as an artist capable of constantly reinventing his sound. From collaborations with EAZYBAKED, sfam, and tiedye ky, to headlining sets at Ultra Music Festival, Imagine, Lost Lands and Submersion Festival, G-Space shows no signs of slowing down.

Vide, too, is making waves with his intricate sound design and melodic edge, having just released his fifth project, Cerebral Realm, with more music on the horizon. Together, their collaboration is just the beginning of what promises to be a long and fruitful partnership, pushing the limits of what bass music can be.

As HypnoVizion continues to carve out its place in the electronic music world under Rezz’s visionary curation, G-Space and Vide are right at the forefront, leading a new wave of experimental bass that isn’t afraid to get dirty, unpredictable, and downright gnarly.
