The festival graveyard is calling home another festival. This time, it’s the first-year festival, Natural Land Camping & Music Festival, located in Arkansas.
With almost 5 days to go until the festival, the producers announced via FB that multiple acts billed near the top of the lineup would not be attending. This list includes the following: Arius, Break Science, Bro Safari, Downlink, EOTO, Must Die! and NGHTMRE.
While the entire festival has yet to be canceled, the festival released this information only yesterday, with no official press release sent out.
When artists drop with 5 days to go, it can mean a few things. The festival probably can’t produce the production needed to sustain those acts, the festival hasn’t or can’t pay the artist, or the festival is almost on the brink of total collapse. (Examples include UpNorth, Pemberton, Euphoria, Fyre festival and dozens more).
Pick any one of the three above, and we promise you that’s probably the correct reason. Agents don’t pull artists from the bill unless they have to. The festival knew this information way before 5 days until the start of the festival. This is not how the music industry works.
Natural Land is trying to make amends with fans by offering some kind of deal; but either way, it’s not looking good. You can read their full statement below.
Good luck to those heading to Natural Lands this year. We wish you the best.
Editors Correction: Our original story suggested the festival claimed no responsibility, we have correct that statement by removing the sentence altogether.
