Disney’s Brink just made 20 years old this week. That’s right, the greatest Disney movie of all time is officially two decades old. How does that make you feel?! If you are like me: old as shit.
Those born in the mid to late 90’s or even early 2000’s will argue that Brink isn’t that great. But it is, and if they want to argue… tell them to shut up. We know what is good. Brink represents a time at Disney when everything wasn’t fairytales and happy endings.
It’s about a kid earning his way to skate through hard work, and lying to his parents in order to do so. Andy “Brink” Brinker (Erik von Detten) is the leader of a group of inline skaters who disapprove of corporate sponsorship, believing that skating should be done for fun rather than profit. Now, how anti-establishment is that? We love it.
And of course, winning the race and becoming the most popular kid in school is an added bonus. So believe me when we say the $5 movie rental off iTunes is 100% worth it. Soul Skaters for life 🤘
