It’s been a long time coming for multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Crywolf. After getting his gear and an entire album’s worth of music stolen while abroad in Patagonia, he experienced a major setback during the creation of this album. But today, he’s risen from the ashes in a moving 16-track project: widow [OBLIVIØN Pt. I]. As the name suggests, this is only part 1 of a 2-part project. No release date has been announced yet for part 2.
As he dives into the void of oblivion, he touches on extremely personal topics: depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Listen to the lyrics closely in each song as it’s layered with metaphors and poetic justices. His goosebump-provoking vocals over brooding instrumentals brings listeners into the void alongside him as he holds their hands.
Crywolf calls this piece of work his most “honest work yet.”
