If you’re just tuning in, we’re big fans of the longtime OG’s Bassnectar and Rusko at River beats. Today, Nectar paid tribute to the latter with a shimmering remix of Rusko’s “High.“
“High” is the second single from the Reflective Part 3 EP releasing Aug. 24. Many a basshead remember this remix as a major highlight from the second night of Freestyle Sessions this year in Broomfield, CO.
The remix follows a trend of Nectar not so much heavily editing main parts of the originals he loves but adding his trademark layers of subwoofer-approved punch and reverb to really bring out the melody. A rippling bassline gives the track a monolithic feel, as do the underlying synth leads and ghostly vocals.
This is a beautiful change of pace from the ferocity of the EP’s first single “Heavyweight Sound,“ and is poised to be a favorite in anticipation of both Reflective Part 3 and Bass Center XI in Hampton, VA.
Color us excited.
