Snowta NYE is Minneapolis’ (and the nation’s) premiere NYE event featuring well-known headliners such as Excision, Ganja White Night and Post Malone. But do not overlook the rest of the lineup! Snowta also boasts a huge variety of local and underground talent.
Snowta NYE is set for its second installment this December 30 and 31. This event will once again transform the Minneapolis Convention Center into a winter wonderland featuring live performances, art installations, interactive games, and pro athlete exhibitions.
Here’s our list of underground artists (mostly local) you should check out at Snowta this year!
Beak Nasty
Hailing from Boulder, CO this duo delves into the experimental sounds of hip-hop breaks mixed with ambient electronica. Made up of producer/turntablist Ryland Sabien (Beaker) and drummer/percussionist Phil Ade (Foxy Dope), Beak Nasty is their conglomerate side project. They just put out a new EP last month titled “Spilling the Void” so plan to hear the product of their new sound.
Nazeem & Spencer Joles
Nazeem and Spencer Joles are a local project out of Minneapolis. Their music is reminiscent of G Eazy and with some thoughtful lyrics and quality production, this collab has nowhere to go but up. With not even 1000 Soundcloud followers, this is an act you say you caught before they got big.
stereoGO
StereoGO is a Minneapolis/Chicago producer and 1/2 of Klenson. A strong mix of melodic trap and bass wobbles, this will definitely be a hyped show. Don’t miss the neck-breaking production and get ready for Excision in style.
sui.luj
All the way from the bay is producer sui.luj and while his artist profile is pretty mysterious, the beats are straight up futuristic. If you like experimental beats with unique breaks and vocals overlaid, this is definitely the act for you.
shrimpnose
With such a strange name, we can only expect some interesting beats to come from this producer. And shrimpnose does not disappoint. A fantastic mix of glitchy and whimsical is barely scraping the surface in attempting to describe shrimpnose production. Check some of his collabs with aforementioned Nazeem & Spencer Joles.
Snowta NYE is held December 30 & 31, 2017 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Tickets are still available here!
