Within 24 hours this past weekend, 30 innocent lives were taken after there were 2 mass shootings in the united states. It’s something that happens monthly at this point, and change doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the horizon any time soon. Many celebrities and artists took to social media to express their frustration, including artist Lana Del Rey.
On Instagram, she shared a preview of her new song in response to these mass shootings. The song is titled “Looking for America.” In the accompanying caption, she explains:
“I know I’m not a politician and I’m not trying to be so excuse me for having an opinion — but in light of all of the mass shootings and the back to back shootings in the last couple of days which really affected me on a cellular level I just wanted to post this video that our engineer Laura took 20 minutes ago. I hope you like it.”
